CONSOLE WATCH · VERIFIED AUGUST 2026
PEAK Game PS5 Release
Team PEAK is working on console versions, but the official FAQ leaves important PlayStation details open. Here is what is confirmed and what is not.

The current PEAK game PS5 answer
The PEAK game PS5 edition is not available to buy or download as of August 29, 2026. There is no public PlayStation Store page, PS5 release date, preorder, or console beta. The version available today is the Windows PC release on Steam.
There is encouraging official news: Landfall's PEAK FAQ says the team is currently bringing the game to consoles and plans cross-platform multiplayer. However, the FAQ does not name PS5, Xbox, or Switch individually. It also promises more console news later in 2026 rather than a launch date. That makes a PS5 version plausible, but not yet a platform-specific announcement.
What Team PEAK has confirmed
The strongest PEAK game PS5 evidence is the official console plan, not rumor posts or store placeholders. Aggro Crab and Landfall say console versions are in development. They also say console players will be able to play with the existing Steam community and with players on other console platforms.
That cross-platform promise is meaningful because PEAK is built around friends climbing together. It suggests the port is being treated as a connected version of the same game rather than a separate edition. It does not yet confirm PlayStation account requirements, save transfer, trophies, voice-chat implementation, frame rate, resolution, price, or which generation of PlayStation hardware will be supported.
Why the PS5 release is taking time
PEAK began as a small collaboration between developers from Aggro Crab and Landfall. The studios continued adding major PC content after the game's unexpected success, then completed the Citadel and Gloom biomes as the final major update. The official FAQ says the team will keep fixing bugs and maintaining stability while the console work proceeds.
A PEAK game PS5 port must do more than map keyboard controls to a DualSense controller. The developers need stable networking across platform services, cross-platform invitations, voice communication, certification, performance targets, user-interface changes, account handling, and reliable daily map rotation. Team PEAK has not published that technical checklist, so these are normal porting considerations rather than claims about its internal schedule.
What you can play right now
PEAK launched on Steam for Windows on June 16, 2025. It supports offline single-player and friends-only online co-op. The Steam description says you can invite up to three other scouts, creating a four-person group. The mountain layout rotates every 24 hours, and a run moves through four biomes filled with stamina decisions, questionable food, climbing tools, campfires, badges, and physics-powered mistakes.
The minimum PC listing asks for Windows 10, 8 GB RAM, an Intel Core i5 around 2.5 GHz, a GTX 1060 or RX 6600 XT, DirectX 12, and 4 GB of storage. Buying that version does not grant a future PlayStation copy unless Team PEAK later announces a cross-buy program, and no such program is confirmed.
Will PEAK support PS5 and PC cross-play?
The broad answer is yes for the future console ecosystem: the official FAQ says PEAK is going to be cross-platform with the Steam community and other consoles. The narrow PEAK game PS5 answer still depends on PS5 being named as a supported platform. Once that happens, the published cross-platform plan indicates that PlayStation players should not be isolated from PC friends.
Important details remain unknown. The team has not explained whether players will join by lobby code, platform friends list, or a separate account. It has not confirmed cross-progression, shared cosmetics, mod compatibility, or whether a modded PC lobby can connect to a console. Cross-play and cross-progression are different features, so do not assume one guarantees the other.
PS5 price, trophies, and subscriptions
No PEAK game PS5 price has been announced. The Steam price and discounts do not establish a console price, and a future physical edition is not confirmed. PlayStation trophies are also unannounced even though the PC version includes Steam achievements and in-game badges.
Online console games commonly require PlayStation Plus, but Team PEAK has not published the service requirements for this port. Offline solo play exists on PC, yet its exact console behavior still needs confirmation. Wait for the PlayStation Store listing or an official FAQ update before treating subscription, download size, age rating, or controller features as settled facts.
How to spot the real release announcement
Bookmark the official FAQ instead of relying on a social post copied without context. When the platform list changes, compare the announcement date with the PlayStation Store listing and read the multiplayer notes before buying. That small check prevents an old rumor, an unrelated game, or an unofficial countdown from becoming the basis for a purchase decision.
Check Landfall and Aggro Crab
A genuine PEAK game PS5 announcement should appear on official studio channels and link to a verified PlayStation Store page. A copied logo or countdown site is not enough.
Look for named platforms
“Coming to consoles” is confirmed, but the decisive update must list PS5 or PlayStation explicitly. It should also provide a date or window if one is ready.
Separate launch facts from expectations
Cross-platform play is planned. Cross-save, trophies, DualSense features, PlayStation Plus requirements, pricing, and physical copies remain open until the developers publish them.
Frequently asked questions
Is the PEAK game on PS5 now?
No. The PEAK game PS5 version is not available as of August 29, 2026. Team PEAK has confirmed console development generally, but it has not yet named PS5 or published a PlayStation release date.
When is the PEAK PS5 release date?
No date is confirmed. Landfall says more console news is coming later in 2026. That is a news window, not a promise that the port will launch before the end of the year.
Will PEAK have cross-play on console?
Yes, cross-platform multiplayer is part of the official console plan. Players who buy a future console edition are expected to be able to play with the Steam community and other console platforms.
Can I transfer my Steam progress to PS5?
Cross-progression has not been announced. The PEAK game PS5 plan confirms cross-platform multiplayer, but that does not automatically include shared saves, badges, cosmetics, or achievements.
